This is an exciting time for Howard Community College with the recent inauguration of Dr. Daria J. Willis as our fifth college president since opening the doors to students in 1970. Our campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities, a vibrant cultural and arts scene, and an incredibly dedicated faculty and staff that make it all possible. We have an energetic and diverse student population. Thirty-six percent of Howard County under graduates attend Howard Community College and we host students from 104 different countries. Every year, 30,000 students turn to HCC for our ability to provide outstanding college education that’s affordable, accessible, practical and personal – an education that’s specifically geared toward today’s emerging and in-demand careers.
We had hoped to welcome you back to our beautiful campus in centrally located Columbia, Maryland. We have added several new buildings since the last time hosting the AFACCT conference in 2006. The state-of-the-art Health Sciences Building houses a wide variety of innovative programs with access to modern simulation labs which allow faculty to engage students in active hands-on-learning. The Science, Engineering and Technology Building are the home to amazing laboratory and classroom spaces that support active student engagement. This includes a cybersecurity lab, an engineering build room and drop zone, a greenhouse, and a rooftop observation area. The new Mathematics and Athletics Complex currently under construction sets the standard for curricular integration! Please stop by next time you are in the area!
