Bishnu is our new representative from the College of Southern Maryland and we extend a hearty welcome to him! Here’s what he has to say about himself:
I received my PhD in English at Ohio University, with a concentration in Postcolonial British and Anglophone Literatures. My Master’s in English is from Tribhuvan University.
In addition, I also hold a MA in Communication Studies from University of North Texas. Currently, I am a faculty member at the College of Southern Maryland. I have been in the teaching profession since 1989 and have been continuously teaching English at the post-secondary level since 1994. I find doing social organizing and volunteering in the community to be very satisfying. I live in Maryland with my family. I am an avid driver and hit the road whenever I can; and, to me, every weekend is a long weekend as two days’ time is long enough for me to reach about anywhere in the eastern half of the country and come back home. Besides taking my family on regular road trips, I also enjoy playing soccer and tennis. Cooking, (and, of course, eating while watching the food cook!), is another pastime of mine. NPR (WAMU 88.5) is my favorite radio station, bar none.
