Don’t forget – Submission of proposals is now open!!

Here’s a message from the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator:

Call for Proposals

Friends and Colleagues,

AFACCT would like to invite you to submit a proposal for the upcoming 31th Annual AFACCT Conference, January 7 & 8, 2021.  Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the conference will be held virtually to allow for a safe and healthy exchange of ideas.  We are excited about the opportunity to expand the presentation formats to include both synchronous and asynchronous options.  We will accept proposal submissions beginning August 19, 2020.  The deadline for submitting a proposal is October 30, 2020.

The AFACCT 2021 Conference theme is Rejuvenate: Yourself, Your Students, and Your College.

This year’s conference focuses on rejuvenation, giving us a moment to pause, reflect, and continue to grow after a period of unexpected change and upheaval.  Take some to time to reflect on what restores, inspires and moves you forward (in your field, in your classroom, on your campus, or in our global community) and build a proposal that invites your colleagues along that journey.

Share your expertise as well as teaching and learning experiences with your Maryland community college colleagues.  At the 2021 AFACCT conference, you are invited to present on any topic your colleagues might have an interest in, as it is related to the community college experience.  Because AFACCT maintains the conference fee as low as possible, we are unable to waive the fee for the presenters.  In most cases, your college will reimburse you for your participation in the conference – check with your college!

AFACCT is a faculty-run and faculty-organized association of full-time and part-time faculties from the 16 Maryland community colleges. If you teach in a Maryland community college, then you are an AFACCT member. More information is at our website www.afacct.org. If you have any questions about the conference contact your campus AFACCT Representative(s).  Your campus representatives’ contact information is located at https://afacct.org/contacts/.

To submit a proposal, go to the AFACCT website https://afacct.org/conferences/current-conference-2021/conference-proposals/ and fill out the electronic survey proposal form by October 30, 2020. Select a proposal type, including an asynchronous or synchronous narrated presentation, an asynchronous or synchronous panel discussion, a poster display with asynchronous and real-time components, or other mode that would complement a virtual conference modality.

We look forward to hearing from you and reading your proposals.  Please let us know if you have questions.

Sincerely,

Carol Howald, Co- Coordinator             Lucinda Stanley, Co-Coordinator
